Disney is moving to enforce pool hours closing pools from 11 PM -7 AM with them reopening at 7 AM or 9 AM at all Walt Disney World Resorts. The plan is to fence in the non-fenced pools and only leave the “quiet” pools that were unguarded to be open whenever. This will start rolling out at the Value Resorts first beginning on September 29 and will be in place at all of the resorts by November. This change will have them only open while a lifeguard is on duty and is in response to accidental drowning 6 months ago at Pop Century that occurred about an hour and a half after the lifeguard went off-duty. Note, Disney always had signs that said swimming without the lifeguard present was at your own risk, they are just trying to prevent future accidents.
