Disneyland Has A New App

Disneyland just got a new offiial app for Android and iOS, simply called Disneyland. What it boils down to is a stripped down version of the My Disney Experience App for Walt Disneyworld, it gets several pluses from it but currently is leaving out many of the benefits of MyMagic+. Granted, I'm sure several of you out there will be thrilled that it is. But anyway, what you're getting is an App that will give you attraction wait times and a description of the attraction, show times, let you buy park tickets, use an interactive map with: dining locations, PhotoPass locations, restroom locations, meet and greet locations, and shopping locations. You can also map your passes to the app and use your phone to get into Disneyland and California Adventure. To conincide with this, regular tickets will be moving to RFID versions similar to what Walt Disney World has, though there is no immediate plans to port over the MagicBands.

Currently the App does not touch FastPass at all so you'll still need your ticket to get those, however with a move to RFID tickets coming, they may add a way to do that down the road. Passholders, remember to bring your pass with you for discounts as well as to get FastPasses. Given how many things are in both apps, I'm not sure why they built a completely seperate App. It would've have been easy to turn options off and on depending on location or park chosen, but for whatever reason Disney chose to make a new app.
