Disney Parks Star Wars Update

Disney has announced that the popular Jedi Training Academy will close October 4, 2015. It will reopen sometime in December of this year as Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, featuring characters from the Star Wars: Rebels Disney XD Series.

Also on deck over in Disneyland, Seasons of the Force will kick off November 16. It will also feature the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple as well as a host of other activities. Those include: Tommorowland getting a temporary Star Wars makeover, The Tomorrowland Theater showing scenes from the Star Wars Movies, Space Mountain will be redubbed Hyperspace Mountain with riders zooming thru an X-Wing battle, Star Tours will begin featuring scenes from The Force Awakens in it's possible scenarios, and finally Innoventions will turn into the Star Wars Launch Bay. The Launch Bay will feature meet and greets from Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and more as well as exhibits of ships and props from The Force Awakens. Also in the LAunch Bay will be Light and Dark Side galleries featuring things like lightsabers, stormtrooper armor, etc.

In 2016 Seasons of the Force will become a seasonal event at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The Launch Bay at Disney World will be at Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard. This one coming up in November is to build hype for Episode VII that Releases in December.

I'd be surprised if the new Star Tours scenes are not added at Hollywood Studios in the coming months as well, though will all the closing for upcoming construction, I'm not sure if they will bring the full blown Seasons of the Force event before Episode VII, though it is blieved they will be. I'd certainly hope they will, as it'd be a shame to leave out Disney World in the festivities. Especially since there is some speculation floating around, though not confirmed by the mouse, that it may replace Star Wars Weekends.
