Animal Kingdom to start testing FastPass+ only this week on Wednesday December 18. No paper FastPasses will be available. MagicBands and RFID enabled passes will be used for FastPass+. Offsite guests will rely on these RFID cards and will have to stop by a kiosk each day to schedule their selections. It’s possible that once some are picked from a kiosk you might be able to do it yourself from the My Disney Experience, however, currently it reads those guests are stuck using the kiosks. You can of course opt-out of FastPass+, however, your only alternative is the standby lines.
FastPass+ Selections allow you to choose 3 from : Character Greeting at Adventurers Outpost – Mickey and Minnie, DINOSAUR, Expedition Everest, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo – The Musical, It’s Tough to be a Bug!, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Primeval Whirl.
Kiosks are located:
- Creature Comforts – outside the store
- Disney Outfitters – outside the store
- Expedition Everest
- Kali River Rapids
- Primeval Whirl
Do not be surprised if all goes relatively well if paper FastPasses do not return to Animal Kingdom, or if they do only for a relatively short time. Ideally Disney is wanting to move everything to FastPass+ and Animal Kingdom is probably the easiest Park to start removing the legacy FastPass system since it likely has the smallest presence there.
